    No, I think you officially found a linking issue on SunOS 5.9 :).
    Probably, some more library has to be linked in in order to
    use aprutil on this kind of system.

    On linux, the output of:
    ldd /usr/lib/libaprutil-0.so
    would be useful, but I do not know the corresponding command
    on Sun OS (lists all libraries needed by aprutils).

    The output of:

    apr-config --ldflags
    apr-config --link-ld
    apr-config --libs
    apr-config --cflags

    Would also be really useful. Please make also sure that
    the apr-config in your path (which apr-config)
    is the one that was installed by your currently installed
    libaprutils-0.

    Last question: was apache built with some kind of threading
    support? on SunOS there may be some external library to be
    used which provides support for threads (sem_ functions seem
    pretty much thread related).
