I could file a bug at Debian, but what about all the other package vendors?
And if all disables the signature why don't just remove it from the
software?
I think the best solution for both package vendors and xslt would be a
runtime switch, then package vendors should not remember to compile with a
specific flag and xslt could keep the signature in the cases where it does
not matter for the user.

Maybe you should file a bug with Debian asking them to remove the
signature.
