Sorry for the delay, I've been distracted at work! I tried to apply your patch but is spat out some errors regarding the patch. I noticed the patch simply removed the contents of the function, so I simply commented out those lines in the specified file and re-ran make. Unfortunately this generated more errors.
I'm not able to give you details at the moment, but I hope to have another stab at this over the weekend, and I'll give you all the appropriate error messages and details I can. I think it would be awesome if we can get this working on OSX. We could then write up all the steps we took and see if the owner of mod-xslt2 would add the instructions to the documentation on the mod-xslt2 site.
